All organizations, whether they are local or multinational, are about people: how they think, how they interact, and how these interactions together define the system’s dynamics. At the core, a large organization is made up of thousands of individuals, each thinking, feeling, and behaving in a unique way. The focus of our practice is to help clients build accountable, engaged, and effective organizations.
We help clients to achieve competitive advantage through focusing on both people and financial performance.
We regularly help both local and international firms in China deal with their most challenging organization-related issues. Some of the areas in which we have extensive experience include:
- Organization models and accountabilities: We focus on creating right structures and infrastructure with key enablers to foster the right interactions, resulting in optimum performance and efficiency.
- People Advantage: We help our clients increase the effectiveness of strategic HR activities, embedding People Advantage capabilities in the DNA of line and HR managers with strategic focus, business connection and excellence in execution.
- Engagement and culture: Employee engagement is a source of competitive advantage. We help our clients achieve a culture of high performance and employee engagement through a successful balancing of discipline and motivation.
- Leadership: We support the development of leadership for value creation, helping our clients to more effectively execute their strategic initiatives, value drivers and organizational vision.
- Change management: We help clients create and execute strategic, ambitious and sustainable change using a range of battle-tested tools and approaches which manage both the operational and the people sides of change.

[PDF]The Future of Leadership: Conversations with Leaders about Their Challenges and Opportunities
In developed markets, the Great Recession shredded income statements, shuttered factories, and trimmed workforces. While its effects were less severe in developing markets, the downturn still sent shock waves through China, India, and other emerging economies. Employees everywhere were looking to their leaders to make sense of the chaos. Leadership was then—and remains—a huge challenge. Over the past six months, as the economy has started to stabilize, BCG partners have talked to leaders from around the world about leadership in order to understand how they led through the Great Recession and whether they see leadership roles and styles changing.
The Change MonsterMost managers don't want to deal with the emotional side of management. They are either convinced that the brilliance of their ideas and plans will eventually win people over or worried that trying to understand and deal with people's emotions might label them as "too sensitive." At best they resolve "to communicate more," but rarely do.
"It's possible to bring both empathy and discipline to the challenge," says Duck, and it is this combination that makes The Change Monster unique and intriguing. It can help leaders understand exactly where people are emotionally because, as Duck writes, "Emotions are data. In any transformation, there are common patterns that can be identified and accurately analyzed with real rigor and rationality. With understanding, there are a variety of ways to address potential problems successfully."
